2. Project Choices:
A. Choose groups of 4 - 5 students. Each group will be responsible for one of the continental areas below:

1. Africa
a. North- Middle East
b. South
2. Asia
3. Australia / Oceania
4. Europe

a. Eastern
b. Western
3. Steps (listed on the reverse side of this handout) - All of the following steps MUST be completed.


ALL GROUP WORK DUE NOVEMBER 6th!!!
A. Create a political and a physical map of your area. (Side by side and colorful on construction paper provided) All maps must be labeled with a key. Use map template from red library binder to trace country.
B. Research the culture and history from one of the countries in your area. You must have one written page on each or half a printed page. (Use library websites and books. NO GOOGLE!)
C. Establish a key terms list. This list must have to do with your topic. You must have 25 words and the words must be defined. (Find terms in E.H. textbook or “People’s of …” books)
D. Design a poster- Poster must contain the flag or flags, and any cultural, historic or geographic information.



A. Profile a country (DUE NOV. 20th) - This must contain a paragraph, a graph, map, chart and key. An example of this can be found in the Eastern Hemisphere textbook (Algeria, pg. 468.)
B. Writing Activity (DUE NOV. 20th) - Choose a country in your area and imagine you’re a tour guide. Write a one-page paper providing tourist information with illustrations. (Must include at least 5 sites to visit.)
C. Diagraphics (DUE OCT. 30th) - Demonstrate a map skill by choosing an idea to display factual information. You can find an example of this in the Eastern Hemisphere textbook (Sweden: Natural Vegetation, pg. 278.) You may also use an atlas to gather information.
E. Choose two of the following (DUE NOV. 6th) -
A. Literature: Find a non-fiction or fiction book that comes from your chosen area. Give a brief summary and give your opinion of the book. This should be half a page.
B. Websites: Find sites about your area and share the information you have found. What was on it and would you recommend it to someone? This should be one page.
C. Charts, Graphs and Tables- Choose a topic (natural vegetation, climate, etc) and represent this using charts, graphs, etc.
D. Animals of the Area: Choose three animals from your area and profile them- basic information, pictures, etc.
E. Art Project: Design a postcard from a city in your area.
